1. Human Rights:

After an audit for the Year 9 curriculum a three day programme of arts activities was devised to show pupils how a seemingly diverse set of issues can be understood more clearly under the umbrella term: ‘Human Rights’.

After a morning’s presentation by Amnesty International 240 pupils took part in a two day carousel of arts workshops involving six artists delivering dance, drama, performance poetry, story-telling, batik and song.

2. Student Arts Council:

One of the most important development s at the School in their Creative Partnership Programme has been the establishment of a 12 strong Student Arts Council.  All years in the School are represented.  After a ‘bonding’ day’s tour of cultural venues in Manchester which included the Bridgewater Hall, Cornerhouse and the Contact Theatre the group has taken on the responsibility for documenting all the arts projects developed by the School.

3. Eco- project: Autumn 2007 to Summer 2008

This will be the most ambitious arts project the School has attempted so far.  Arts Kerry Morrison will lead a team of artists who will work with students from all departments to respond to a wild outdoor space within the school grounds.
