About Us
Mid Pennine Arts create and deliver high quality artistic programmes in Visual Arts, Education and Regeneration by bringing artists and communities together.
The organisation was formed 40 years ago to fill the cultural gap that existed in Pennine Lancashire at the time. As far as we know there is no other organisation that fulfills anything like a similar role anywhere else in the UK.
We work primarily in the four districts of Pennine Lancashire; Burnley, Hyndburn, Pendle and Rossendale; and the township of Todmorden, although a number of recent projects have spilled over the boundaries. We provide a strategic overview of the arts and work in partnership with local service providers and regeneration organisations to develop best practice in arts consultation projects. We have a diverse range of projects at any one time and host contemporary exhibitions throughout the year in our gallery space.
We have an education department that works extensively with all the primary, secondary and further education establishments in Pennine Lancashire.
