Creative Learning

Our Creative Learning team engages with people of all ages, but especially young people.

We work with creative practitioners across all artforms.  We plan, deliver and evaluate projects in a variety of contexts, from formal learning to more informal work in public spaces.  Our programmes are developed through collaborative partnership working.  Our key working relationship is with Curious Minds, Arts Council England's Bridge Organisation for the North West.

Our recent work includes:

  • Artsmark assessment and moderation across the North West
  • Arts Award advisory work with young people in Halton, Accrington and Nelson
  • Kicking Leaves - our biennial young people's literature festival in Pennine Lancashire
  • Projects with schools clusters in Padiham, Blackburn and Todmorden, each spanning a term and culminating in celebratory events
  • Bespoke and long term curriculum development in primary and infant schools in Accrington and Nelson
  • Community projects at heritage sites with East Lancashire Women's Refuge and local reading groups
  • Art holiday clubs for young people and families
  • Project management of Creative Partnerships work in schools across Lancashire and in Runcorn
  • Creative consultation work with school children and teachers in advance of capital build work
  • Delivery of the Landscape Institute's 'Spaceshaper' toolkit to help young people in Nelson and Fleetwood assess the quality of their local public spaces
  • Evaluation of schools' literacy programmes for Renaissance in the Regions in the North East
  • Research reports for Curious Minds focusing on Arts Award and Schools Clusters
