Considered Matter

Alice Cunningham, Ann Goddard, Aaron Head and Rosie Leventon

Considered Matter showcased the work of four artists, at different stages of their careers, whose practice is concerned with raising awareness of the enormous global issue of climate change.  International artist Leventon, recent graduate Cunningham and commissioned artist Goddard brought climate change debate to life through their engaging works.

Radical Mayhem explored the work and legacy of Welfare State International - a collective of radical artists, musicians and performers who pioneered the idea of 'site-specific' multi-media theatre and continued to develop alternative models of participative art in Britain from 1968 to 2006. 

 

 

STart

An Exhibition of Student Art

Start is a yearly exhibition dedicated to student art work from secondary schools across East Lancashire. Mid Pennine Arts have given students the opportunity to show their work in a professional gallery, mounted and framed work as a professional artist would. The Disasters of War was an exhibition of etchings by artist Alan Birch taken from media images of the period preceding and during the Iraqi conflict. Inspired by the early 19th Century Spanish artist, Goya.

Frames is a progression and an inevitability.  Bracey’s time as projectionist at Cornerhouse, Manchester, lost into the dark world of the projection booth with the whir of machinery Bracey concentrated his thoughts on his paintings.
